Step by step on How to change your name on Facebook

If you’ve not recently changed your name and you want to do so, or you want to separate your professional life from your personal life,

you’ll likely want to change your name on Facebook. Facebook frowns upon using fake names, but allows you to make changes to your real name up to four times. To change your name on Facebook,

1. log into Facebook and 
2. Navigate to your "Account Settings," then click on your name to open the name editor (or go to "General" and "Name" if using the mobile app). 
3. Change your first, middle, and last name as applicable, then 
4. Click on "Save Changes" to complete the process.

Be careful when typing in the new name and preview before you click on save because when saved you can only edit it again in the next 60 days.
